In this chapter we present the methods we used to gather and analyze the data of our collaborative, international study of the development of psychotherapists. Details of these procedures need to be known, particularly by our research colleagues, if the strengths and limitations of our study are to be correctly understood. Thus, we describe here the instrument we designed to present to psychotherapists, the procedures we followed in collecting data with it, and the methods we followed in conducting the data analyses presented in chapters 4 through 10.
