Abstract
This article reports on a case of a uniocular postoperative valsalva hemorrhagic retinopathy. It developed in one eye of a patient immediately after she had a bronchospastic attack at the end of general anesthesia for a cataract extraction operation in the affected eye. A possible explanation for the clinical picture, with special emphasis on its uniocularity, is also presented. Conclusions as to the clinical importance of this event and ways to prevent it are also offered.
