Abstract
Introduces a non-parametric technique for measuring total factor productivity (TFP). The dual to TFP, which is the cost efficiency, is applied to the intercity bus industry. The intertemporal average cost differentials are decomposed into factor price effect, non-constant returns to scale effect, and a pure efficiency effect.-from Author
