Abstract

This paper describes a therapeutic intervention with a family in extreme distress. This group of families has been known as 'difficult for treatment,' 'unsuitable for treatment,' or 'resisting clients.' However, during the last 30 years, some attempts have been made to work with thesefamilies. This study describes a therapeutic intervention with one family in extreme distress that took part in a project concerned with this population. The project integrated the effective elements that were found in previous experiences into a model of intervention. The description of the processis followed by further analysis regarding the implementation of therapy with families in extreme distress. (Journal abstract.)
