Abstract
In light of the general regional developments in the field of human rights for older persons, and in light of the relatively limited research literature on older persons’ rights in Africa, in this article, we will attempt to examine a relatively narrow research question: To what extent are issues of human rights for older persons expressed in activities of formal AU institutions for the protection of human rights? Namely, the African Court on Human and People’s Rights and the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights — all within the legal framework of the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights.
