Abstract

In this minireview we focus on certain aspects of the induction, function, and ecophysiological significance of the inorganic carbon-concentrating mechanism in cyanobacteria. Since this entire issue is dedicated to various aspects of this mechanism, we mainly discuss some of the recent studies in our laboratory and point to open questions and perspectives.
