Abstract
A form new to science, Peniophora quercina f. merulioides, is described for the subarid region of the Middle East, grown on Quercus calliprinos wood and characterized by a merulioid hymenophore. Analysis of its spore variability shows an overlapping size and shape with the type. Both Peniophora quercina and P. cinerea are recorded for the first time for Israel.
