Abstract

“ELAICH – Educational Linkage Approach In Cultural Heritage” – was formulated during the European project of the same name within the framework of the Euromed Heritage 4 Programme. It was initiated by a group of experts from different fields of conservation of cultural heritage, including architecture, chemistry, and material science, combining both research and teaching in the field of conservation and preservation of cultural heritage.” [1] It aimed to “open the door” to youth “into conservation of cultural heritage - a much needed and fascinating inter-disciplinary field, combining arts, architecture, sciences, and technology” [2]. This three year project created the ELAICH Educational Toolkit, to encourage and facilitate the involvement of the general public, especially youth, in preservation of cultural heritage, with a focus on documentation and survey.
