Abstract
משלחת החפירות של אוניברסיטת בר-אילן חפרה עד כה במשך שתי עונות בתל עיטון שבמזרח השפלה. רוב החוקרים מייחסים את התל לעגלון שמוזכרת בספר יהושע. החפירות טרם הוכיחו זאת בוודאות, אך ברור שבתקופה זו היתה בתל עיר גדולה וחשובה.
