Abstract

This source publication includes a collection of historical documents concerning the relations between Poland and Israel in the years 1945-1967. The publication is the outcome of the Agreement on Cultural, Educational and Scientific Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of the State of Israel. It purpose is to present the whole picture of mutual relations between these two countries in the said period, concerning, in particular: the position of Poland towards the establishment of the Israeli State (including military assistance), problems of the Jewish emigration, internal and foreign (including contacts with Jewish representatives: attitude of party authorities to the existing problem - internal discussions, decisions, their independence, contacts with Moscow), all types of official and unofficial contacts - military, commercial, etc., among others, the role of the Bank Polska Kasy Opieki; as well as cultural and scientific ones, and the attitude towards the Zionist movement.
