Abstract

A species diversity study of the genera Morchella and Helvella of Israel is given. The genera Morchella and Helvella are represented by fifteen species: Morchella elata, M. esculenta, M. vulgaris, Helvella acetabulum, H. atra, H. chinensis, H. crispa, H. elastica, H. ephippium, H. lacunosa, H. leucomelaena, H. pezizoides, H. phlebophora, H. queletii, H. spadicea. Synonymy, locations, collecting data, general distribution, distribution in Israel, descriptions, illustrations and taxonomic remarks are provided.
