Abstract

The sound field of a point source in a shallow-water waveguide with internal waves is considered. A model allowing for the basic characteristics of shelf internal waves is proposed. The behavior of coherent (deterministic) and incoherent (fluctuating) components of the sound field is investigated. The spatial coherence scales are estimated for various waveguides.
