Abstract

The Museum of Mediterranean Archaeology at Nir David (Gan Hashlosha) in the Beit She’an Valley was founded in the early 1960s. It was established to house the archaeological collection belonging to the Swiss collector, archaeologist and artist Dan Lifschitz who arrived at the Kibbutz Nir David in the summer of 1958.¹ The main and most important part of this collection consists of about 135 vases, Attic and non-Attic, ranging in date from the Geometric to the Hellenistic periods.
