Abstract
A system of models for evaluation of statistical goodness of fit of several different quasi-linkage mechanism assumptions concerning segregations observed for marker loci has been developed. Among possible alternative hypotheses, following are considered: a) affinity of centromeres or other loci; b) selective elimination of recombinant associations of non-homologous chromosomes; c) assortative singamy; d) differential marker penetrance. The chromosome affinity and/or differential elimination of recombinants have been shown to be the most likely explanation for the observed quasi-linkage between aw, d (chromosome 2) and m-2, c (chromosome 6) tomato markers.
