Properties of the power family of fractional age approximations

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

We derive some properties of the power family of fractional age approximations introduced by Jones and Mereu [Insur.: Math. Econ. 27 (2000) 261; Insur.: Math. Econ. 30 (2002) 363]. The different approximations are compared with respect to stochastic ordering. We also compare the power approximations with the unknown life survival function.
