Abstract

The article focuses on how economic abuse is socio-legally made possible and growing literature on masculinities theory and through an examination of the legal history of male power in the family and the market. It mentions intimate partner violence, mainly physical and sexual abuse, tend to see the violence primarily as an exertion of male control over women. It also mentions how gender identity which is recognized as germane to domestic violence and link between identity and social structure.
