Abstract
Excavation in Area D-West during the 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019 seasons were focused on exploration in the western palace outward from the Orthostat Building. The aims in this area were to methodologically expose the Wine Storage Complex (both southern and northern parts) and to understand its connection to the Orthostat Building. Excavation of the wine storage rooms and their contents provided new information about the Kabri economy, as well as the opportunity to carry out a variety of scientific testing and analysis on the contents of the jars and the jars themselves. Further exploration of the area immediately to the west and north of the Wine Storage Complex was carried out as part of an ongoing interest in finding the boundaries of the palace. This initiative led to newly exposed architectural features beyond the "Wine Cellar,"confirming the continuation of the palace in this area. The complex finds recovered from this area shed new light on the development and practices of the palace during the final phase (III) of Middle Bronze occupation.
