Abstract

Based on the job demands-resources model, we examined if the relationship of personal resources of mindfulness and self-efficacy with employee performance was mediated by the reduction of stress. The results partially support the hypotheses, indicating full rather than the expected partial mediation effects. The results suggest an additional explanation of the positive relationships of mindfulness and self-efficacy with performance—namely, the inhibition of work-related stress.
