Abstract

The special volume of the Journal of Logic and Computation is presented as a tribute to our Professor Arnon Avron, on the occasion of his 60th birthday. Arnon was born in Tel Aviv in 1952. He was attracted by the charm of mathematics in high school, and after graduation went on to study mathematics first at Tel Aviv University, and at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was awarded a Ph.D. with high distinction in mathematics from Tel Aviv University in 1985. Arnon was a member of several distinguished professional societies, including the Association of Symbolic Logic, the European Association for Computer Science Logic, and the Association for Automated Reasoning.
