Abstract

This chapter introduces this book, offering an overview of its origins, objectives, and content. It begins by contextualizing the emergence of this book’s central idea, which addresses the dominance of research-practice partnerships (RPPs) in the American context and their limited applicability to the Israeli educational landscape. The primary aim of this book is to provide a comprehensive exploration of one RPP within the Israeli context. Drawing on insights from a research program that accompanied the RPP, this book presents a multifaceted analysis, integrating theoretical frameworks, empirical findings, and practical implementation. Each chapter connects the RPP to existing literature, synthesizing foundational theories, research findings, and the practical challenges and strategies discussed in the general RPP literature. This book systematically examines these dimensions to provide nuanced perspectives for researchers, policymakers, and third-party organizations. This chapter also introduces the structure of this book, outlining its various parts and chapters, and demonstrating how they collectively contribute to a multilayered understanding of RPPs in the Israeli educational context.
