Abstract

A new genus and species, Heinrichiana helgaluisae gen. et sp. n., are described from the forests of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Mai-Ndombe Province, Ekongo camp). In addition to the new species, Hypsoides vuilleti de Joannis, 1907, is transferred to Heinrichiana, with a new combination. The new genus is compared with three other Afrotropical Anaphinae genera: Anaphe Walker, 1855, with the type species Anaphe reticulata Walker, 1855; Epanaphe Aurivillius, 1904, with the type species Anaphe moloneyi Druce, 1887; and Hypsoides Butler, 1882, with the type species Hypsoides bipars Butler, 1882, which was replaced by the only available to the authors Hypsoides pr. antsianakana (Oberthür, 1922). Adults of both sexes, their genitalia, a map with collection sites, and the habitat of the new species are illustrated.
