Abstract

This article explores the aspirations of individuals in the ‘low-tech’ media industry to transition to the ‘high-tech’ sector. High-tech jobs are seen positively due to attractive salaries, growth opportunities, and development prospects, unlike low-tech roles. Israeli media stakeholders–journalists, marketing factors, and PR professionals–shape the favourable image of high-tech careers through content dissemination. A survey among Israeli media practitioners reveals their fascination with the high-tech industry and personal desire to shift to technology-related fields. The study highlights their ambition to secure ‘better’ and ‘more rewarding’ jobs in the high-tech sector compared to their current media positions.
