Abstract
A female newborn is presented with a Type I esophageal atresia without a tracheoesophageal fistula. The distance between the ends of the esophageal pouches measured about four vertebrae. She was successfully managed by a primary esophagoesophagostomy following elongation of the upper pouch with esophageal bougies.
