Abstract

This chapter examines the role of personality in the applied domain of Educational Psychology, with primary interest in uncovering the association between personality traits and student learning, classroom achievement, academic motivation and emotional processes. Attempts to explicate the role of personality in educational settings have met with varying degrees of success over the years. These attempts are characterized by short-lived periodic spurts of interest by psychologists and educational researchers.
