Abstract
In the past two decades Israeli geography has changed substantially from idiographic to nomethetic discipline. This change is more marked in the universities than at other levels in the educational system, creating a gap in the perceptions of the nature and purpose of geography and a rift in the discipline in the country. To close the gap, re-evaluations of the aims of geography are needed at all levels.- Author
