Abstract
Soy products may have a protective role against certain chronic diseases, including hormone-related cancers (Adlercreutz & Mazur, 1997). Most studies have been conducted among populations with frequent and relatively high soy intake. Data regarding soy product intake in Western societies is limited. In light of the possible beneficiary consumption of soy, the aim of this study was to describe the distribution of soy product intake in 10 European countries (Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, UK) by using a standardized reference dietary method.
