Abstract

In external beam radiotherapy, an interesting situation occurs when several proposed treatment plans approach the desired dose distribution but none fully satisfies it. A mathematical formulation of such a situation is given here and the question of combining realizable but unacceptable plans is posed. Solution methods for this mathematical model are proposed.
