Abstract

A prospective nonrandomized comparative trial of 251 patients undergoing first cataract surgery was conducted to determine the timing of intraocular pressure (IOP) elevation and resolution in postopertive steroid responders, and investigate possible risk factors for steroid responsiveness. In the absence of other ocular pathology, pressure elevation is expected to resolve within 4 weeks. Careful postoperative IOP monitoring is highly recommended.
