Abstract

Many context aware mobile applications such as museum visitors’ guides proactively interact with their users. Proactiveness means some kind of interruption to the user’s current activity. The question is when and how such interruption should occur, in order to minimize the interruption while delivering the service, especially in museums, where visitors are focusing on exhibits. This work focuses on adopting interrupt management guidelines and applying them in a cultural heritage scenario. After analyzing the museum visit scenario, possible interruption techniques are discussed and initial results about preferred methods for interruptions are presented and discussed
