Abstract
A quantitative approach is presented to the analysis of slope roughness on debris covered slope in an arid area. The surface roughness increases with increasing slope angle. As slope flow depth is very thin, slope roughness affects the flow line. Hence the angle of the flow line - the effective slope - is less than the slope angle.
