Abstract
The first Summer Students Seminar (3S) was held in Novosibirsk, Russian Federation. The seminar was hosted by the Siberia State Academy for Geodesy (SSGA). This was the culmination of the cooperation MoU signed between SSGA (Novosibirsk), MIIGAiK (Moscow) and the Wuhan University (China). All the professors that attended the seminar were impressed with the high level of scientific and professional expertise presented by the students. It seems also that the students themselves enjoyed the seminar immensely and were very much pleased to have taken part in this endeavor. They all wished the seminar to be one day longer, to have more on hand practice and assignments and to have some more free time in order to learn about the city and country. The second 3S has been planned for 9th-14th October 2011, at the Wuhan University, China.
