מטרת המאמר להציג את מכלול עצמות בעלי החיים שהתגלו בשני אתרים מימי בית שני לרגלי תל בורנט (תל ברקת), המצוי בשפלת לוד, ולהשוותו למדגם עצמות בעלי החיים שנמצאו באשפת עיר המקדש בירושלים
