Abstract
Freud’s uncanny seems most appropriate when trying to assess and appreciate what the Covid-19 pandemic has done to our emotional well-being, both as individuals and as a society. All that has been familiar and comforting, like social contact, has since become threatening. We are faced with hardly any means of offering emotional and social support to one another. Will some of these developments usher in new post-human approaches that will forever transform our most intimate interactions?
