Abstract
With the outbreak of war in Israel on October 7, 2023, thousands of residents were required to evacuate their homes and move to reception facilities in hotels. These residents face psychological, social, and economic implications of the state of emergency and are required to maintain a routine in hotels. Social workers play a crucial role in creating community response strategies to cope with these implications. This opinion article seeks to highlight the challenges of communal coping in hotels, as well as those expected upon returning to normality. These challenges place an obligation on policymakers to promote policies that support communities, their leaders, and professionals
